Foliage is something I have been keenly interested in for a while now. I loved working with the tools inside of Unreal and playing with texture atlases, so as I pondered on what my next tool would be, I decided to design a tool that would allow the user to both scatter foliage in a defined area, as well as via a custom mesh input!
The result of that was this system that connects Unreal to Houdini and procedurally generates the desired effect with the click of a button. Packed with controls that allow you to ensure every cluster looks different from the rest, this tool is highly repeatable amongst a large environment and can handle being used for bushes, ivy, trees, etc!
